Beginning October 1, 2017 the DC Office of Human Rights will be enforcing two new important laws that will impact businesses and housing providers across the District: The Fair Criminal Record Screening for Housing Act of 2016 and the Fair Credit in Employment Amendment Act of 2016. Both laws aim create more opportunities within the District for individuals who often are faced with significant barriers to housing and employment due to their credit history or criminal background.
