Good Morning Henri, Let’s talk about changing politics in DC as we know it. Please call or email me when you have a moment. Thank you.

    Greetings Henri,

My name is Brittney, and I am a graduate student in the Documentary Film Institute at GWU and we are currently working on capturing community experiences within DC. I recently read a very interesting article in the Washington City Paper about the proposed homeless shelter in Ward 5 and would like to learn more about the impact it’s had in your community thus far. It would also be interesting to possibly capture those experiences via storytelling through a documentary. Would you be free to chat this week? I can adjust to your availability.

    Looking forward to connecting soon!

    Best,

    Brittney

    Hi Henri:

My name is Michele Peters and I am a ward 5 resident my ANC is Rayceen Woodland. But the reason I am contacting you is that I am also chairperson for the social concerns committee at Northeastern Presbyterian church at 21st and Varnum Sts. NE. We are working on an event for May 26 from 12:30 to 4:00pm that would be a town hall/memorial event for those black brothers and sisters who have been killed by gun violence or police brutality. I would like to extend an invitation to all of the ANC commissioners in Ward 5. Our line up would be Att. J Wendal Gordon an attorney out of Baltimore with jurisdiction at the Superior Court. He has handled some high profile cases and is an advocate against gun violence also Black Lives Matter has been invited to be a guest on our panel and last but not least Retired Judge Herbert Dixon from the DC Superior Court will send someone to represent him if he cannot make it.

We would begin with each guest speaking for 15 to 20 minutes followed by any comments from the audience and then a candle lighting ceremony for each person there that wants to name a love one killed by gun violence and finally ending with a prayer from our Pastor. I would really love the attendance of the Ward 5 anc commissioners. So please seriously consider this. Peace in Christ, Michele Peters
